The Deputy Speaker announced that quorum was not achieved despite ringing the Quorum Bell twice, leading to the adjournment of the Senate sitting. The session was postponed to later the same day at 2:30 p.m., and the house rose at 9:54 a.m.
Clerk, confirm whether we have quorum. Serjeant-at-Arms, ring the Quorum Bell for 10 minutes. Ring the Quorum Bell again for 10 more minutes.

Hon. Senators, unfortunately, we have not been able to achieve quorum today to commence the sitting. There being no quorum and having rung the Quorum Bell pursuant to provisions of Standing Order No.42, the Senate stands adjourned until later today, Wednesday, 9th July, 2025, at 2.30 p.m. The Senate rose at 9:54 a.m.
